HOPE HOPE HOPE

During the holidays it’s nice to think this is the Season of Hope, albeit that’s a bit of a stretch given what a mess things are out there at the moment. Still and all, there is reason for a glimmer of hope even if you have to look pretty hard for it.

My Fantastic and Amazing Holiday Giveaway is all about hope and the Grand Prize is this fabulous 2008 Christmas Glass starring none other than His Majesty, our future president, offering us HOpe HOpe HOpe!

In Comments please tell me where you find hope these days and where it may be hiding. This might help some of us out there who are a bit thin on it lately. If you put a link on your blog to my little contest and you win, I will award you an additional glass of your choosing (assuming it is in stock). Glasses can be found at this link: http://www.beerknurd.com/glasstrader

Contest winner will be announced next Monday, Dec. 22. Thanks everyone and good luck!

  1. Oh, I must get to the Saucer today for my glass!! I LOVE IT!!!

As for the contest: you know I don't have a blog so this little forum here will have to do.

As corny as it sounds, I am always hopeful. I am a glass-mostly-full sort. I believe that people are mostly good. I don't think that people have ulterior motives when they do something kind. I'm so naive that I miss snarky comments that people make about 90% of the time. I find hope in my friends, because no matter what shitty thing has happened to me, at least one of them will undoubtedly make me laugh & lift my spirits at least 3 times a day. I find hope in Sweet Hubby's doctor because I KNOW that his treatments are going to keep him healthy & happy & with me for a long, long time.

I know that the world is nuts right now, but I suppose that this attitude of mine always makes me hopeful always.

The End & Happy, Hopeful Christmas!!

  2. Okay, no laughing at me, but I am basically a hopeful person. I may ACT all doom and gloom and whiny but the truth is I'm confident everything will turn out exactly as it's meant to.

Also? I drink whiskey for breakfast. But I'm sure that's not related at all.

  3. I'm all about the Hope. And I'm hoping the Feds cutting the interest rates helps out our economy.

(Oh yeah, and ditto for Sheila...i hope her family is well)

  4. Last time I saw Hope she was making out with Preston on The Guiding Light. She didn't know he was really her long lost brother at the time. None of that mattered when he was killed in a car accident after going blind in a freak accident at the mall.

Umm: what was the question again?

  5. I was going to add that whenever I need a little hopeful pick me up, I just pop on Gordon Lightfoot's Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.
